(Original Caption) America's Wilma Rudolph (left), of Clarksville, Tennessee, embraces Britain's Dorothy Hyman, after Miss Rudolph won a gold Medal for the U.S. by taking the women's 100 meter dash here, September 2nd. Miss Hyman finished second. Wilma's winning time was 11 seconds flat, a new world record, but it wasn't allowed to stand because of a favoring tail wind.
