Artist's Description
(Original Caption) Said to be the most complete ever installed, the Olympic Press Service is ready for operation with a system consisting of a battery of Teletype machines connecting all fields and offices with the main office in the stadium, as shown here. Information on each event is gathered and sent over Teletype to the main office from where it is assembled and distributed in bulletins over Dow Jones machines to newspapers and press syndicates. Between 250 and 300 Teletype machines are in operation at the time of this photograph. This picture shows Chief Operator William Henne dispatching news stories form his office in the Olympic Stadium.
