NEW YORK CITY - SEPTEMBER 21: American public intellectual, commentator, and author William Frank Buckley, Jr. (William Francis Buckley - November 24, 1925 - February 27, 2008) reviews a speech as he is being driven in a towncar to an appearance at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey on September 21, 1967. William 'Bill' Buckley was notably the founder in 1955 of the conservative news magazine, The National Review, host of the weekly PBS public affairs television show 'Firing Line' from 1966 to 1999, and the author of dozens of well-received, award-winning books on politics, public policy, and linguistics, as well as spy novels.
