Whitefield's Tabernacle, Tottenham Court Road, Westminster, London' (1820), from 'Old and New London Illustrated, Vol IV,' by Edward Walford (Cassell Petter & Galpin, London, Paris & New York), 1878. Whitefield's Tabernacle was a Methodist chapel built in 1756 for George Whitefield. On Palm Sunday 1945 the church building was destroyed by the last V-2 rocket to fall on London.
