Walnut mirror frame, early-mid 19th century, (1881). Etching of a carved walnut wood frame of tabernacle form, made in Italy circa 1800-circa 1850. The central section incorporates a sliding panel with a woman's head in profile. From "The South Kensington Museum", a book of engraved illustrations, with descriptions, of the works of art in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (formerly known as the South Kensington Museum).
