(Original Caption) England's Graham Hill, car no. 6 (foreground, right) gets off to a narrow lead in the early laps of the Grand Prix of the United States here, October 1st. Jim Clark of Scotland won the Grand Prix for the third time, beating Hill, his Lotus-Ford teammate, by one lap on the 2.3 mile Glen Road course. Clark's average speed was a record 120.95 miles per hour.
