(Original Caption) Pittsburgh:Harnessed Light Rays Provide For Transmission of Movies. Above is pictured V. K. Zworykin of Westinghouse Electric Research Laboratories, East Pittsburgh with his thermionic photo electric tube which utilizes the mechanical known to science and will send out electric currents and radio impulses whenever a ray of light falls upon it. It is applied for a wide variety of purposes such as steering ships, controlling railroad trains automatically, recording the light from variable stars and even promises to provide the means for transmission of motion pictures by radio.
