(Original Caption) 5/4/45-Germany: Two GI's examine the famous painting "Wintergarden," by the French impressionist Edouard Manet, it was among the collection of art treasrues looted by the Nazis and found by American forces in a saltmine in Merkers, Germany. A great quantity of gold and other treasure also was hidden here.
