Description
The Hoover Dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its construction cost over one hundred lives. The dam is named after President Herbert Hoover. The dam is located on the border between Arizona and Nevada.
