Description
The trial of Mrs Maybrick at Liverpool, 1889. Florence Maybrick (1862-1941) was an American citizen accused of poisoning her British husband, James Maybrick, a Liverpool cotton merchant. She was arrested, convicted and sentenced to death, but the penalty was commuted to life imprisonment. She spent fourteen years in prison in England, though there was doubt about her guilt.
