Gullfoss (Golden Falls) is a waterfall located in the canyon of Hvítá river. It is one of the most famous waterfalls in all of Iceland and also the largest waterfall that I have seen. When I was there in the winter, the wide curved three-step "staircase" was surrounded by ice from the mist that sprayed everywhere. Even the the path down the canyon was sheer ice!
