The Door to the Timur Gur-Emir Mausoleum', 1873, (1965). The Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, tomb of Timur (1336-1405). Amir Timur (or Tamerlane), was a Turco-Mongol conqueror and founder of the Timurid Empire in Persia and Central Asia, the first ruler in the Timurid dynasty.
