The Coronation of James II in Westminster Abbey, London, 1685 (1903). The coronation of James II (1633-1701) and his Queen Mary of Modena (1658-1718) took place on 23 April 1685. James was King of England and Ireland as James II and King of Scotland as James VII, from 6 February 1685 until he was deposed in the Glorious Revolution of 1688.
