(Original Caption) Young and Old Vaccinated to Stem Small Pox Epidemic. New York: Dr. George Long, vaccinates little Patrick Hogan, while other children in the class line up awaiting their turn at the needle. This scene was taken at the St. Joan of Arc, parochial school in Jackson Heights, Queens, today. City officials and health officials, urged all New Yorkers who have not been vaccinated for the past seven to ten years, to please do so. The mass vaccination program was spurred by a second death from smallpox, since the disease was brought into the city last month.
