(Original Caption) Dr. Harold Urey, Nobel Prize winner and world famous nuclear scientist, revealed today that Stanley Miller, one of his students at the University of Chicago, has created organic life in a laboratory experiment as "Elementary, or possibly identical to the first step from which life on Earth evolved". Miller, 23, who comes from Berkeley, California, is shown here working in the lab, where, under the guidance of Dr. Urey, he has created conditions they believe to have existed on Earth some 3 1/2 billion years ago.
