Irish night club owner Kate Meyrick (1875�1933, seated, centre) at a welcome back party given at the Silver Slipper Club, London, to mark her release from prison, 1928. Meyrick ran the late night jazz club at 43 Gerrard Street in Soho, and was prosecuted several times for breaches of the licensing laws, and once for bribing a police officer.
