(Original Caption) Senator Hubert Humphrey, Minnesota Democrat, is shown shortly after he demanded the immediate dismissal of Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson on the floor of the Senate yesterday. The Senator made his demand because of a letter, written over his signature, praising an article that denounced farm-bloc politics that appeared in Harper's Magazine. After yesterday's furor, Secretary Benson admitted "We pulled a boner," said that he personally had nothing to do with the letter, which, he said was written by an assistant, but "as Secretary of Agriculture, I must take the responsibility for this, and I so do."
