Description
Sego Canyon, about 40 miles north east of Moab, offers one of the regions most impressive overviews of prehistoric and historic American Indian rock imagery including examples of both petroglyphs and pictographs together. Figures here date from the Archaic period (4000 years ago) to historic Ute rock art (dated between 400 and 700 years ago). The large rock to the left contains panels of rock art from the Fremont period and Archaic Barrier Canyon people.
