(Original Caption) Boston: Bosox catcher Carlton Fisk (L, arm raised), and Yankees' Thurman Munson (C, bent over) held by Bosox Carl Yastrzemski (8), battle during 9th inning melee, Fenway Park (8/1). Both dugouts emptied after plate action when fisticuffs erupted. Munson bowled over Fisk, while trying to score on suicide squeeze play. Fisk held the ball for the out. Munson punched Fisk who countered. Both were thrown out of game. Red Sox won 3-2. Other players, Gene Michael (top, L), Bosox Doug Griffin and pitcher John Curtis.
