(Original Caption) Worldwide attention has been drawn to the cases of the five New Jersey women who are doomed to succumb to the effects of radium poisoning contracted while employed in a radium factory. The above photo, taken in the laboratories used by Mme. Curie in her research work at the Radium Institute at the University of Paris, shows a worker introducing a weighed quantity of a radioactive compound into an ampoule in an analysis of the amount of radium emanation from the specimen.
