'Its water-power has been made available for manufacturing purposes; but, as it has lately been included within the limits of Fairmount Park, it is understood that the unromantic mill-buildings will be soon removed, and nothing allowed to remain which can in any way interfere with its wild and picturesque beauty..., these objectionable structures are not wholly unsightly; and the factories...are so shaded by foliage that, in conjunction with the arches of the bridges near by, they offer tempting bits of form and color for the .
