Description
(Original Caption) Richard M. Nixon was catapulted into national prominence in 1948, when as a virtual newcomer to Congress, he was instrument in pinning the perjury tag on Alger Hiss with the discovery of Whittaker Chambers' now famous Pumpkin Papers on the latter's Maryland Farm. Here Nixon, (R), goes over the microfilms with Robert Stripling, Chief Investigator for the House Un-American Activities Committee.
