(Original Caption) 8/3/1972-Munich, Germany- The master control room of Radio Free Europe (RFE) is in full swing, its employees breathing easier while beaming news into Eastern Europe. A campaign by U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright to kill RFE by cutting off Congressional appropriations has failed for the time being, the Arkansas democrat's own foreign relations committee having voted last June to authorize $38.5 million for the coming year to RFE and its sister station, Radio Liberty.
