Artist's Description

Prunus amygdalis (dulcis). (Sweet Almond), 1737. Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis means sweet almond oil and is one of the most frequently used carrier oils and most adaptable body oils for beauty products and massage. Elizabeth Blackwell (1700-1758) was recognised as an accomplished artist. Her husband was sent to debtors prison for two years after he opened a print shop in London without the required apprenticeship. Almonds promote cardiovascular health. Artist Elizabeth Blackwell.
