Artist's Description
Due to contemporary farming practices and the use of modern pesticides, poppy fields are something of a rarity in Britain. However, because poppy seeds can remain dormant and intact for decades, a field left fallow or disturbed can result in a sudden profusion of flowers in early summer. I visited this field of red in June and managed to spend about an hour capturing it from various angles.
