(Original Caption) New York: Sparky Lyle (L-78 photo), the American League's '77 Cy Young award winner, was traded by the New York Yankees along with four others to the Texas Rangers for center fielder Juan Beniquez, and four other Rangers. Lyle had become disenchanted with the Yankees when relegated to second-line status in the bullpen.
