(Original Caption) 1889- Picture shows an impression from a woocut of a small portion of Mr. Babbage's Difference Engine, No. 1, the property of Government, at present deposited in the Museum at South Kensington. It was commenced in 1823. This portion was put together in 1833, constructioned abandoned in 1812 and this plate was printed 1889.BPA2# 797.
