(Original Caption) 6/19/1953- Berlin, Germany: Shot in East Berlin riot. The first victim of a police bullet in the June 17 East Berlin riot of workers is helped from the scene by German police. The Russians decreed martial law, using tanks, guns, and clubs, to break up the unpredicted workers' "revolution," after protesting East Berliner could not be controlled. Scores were injured and at least seven were killed.
