Description
SIERRA MADRE - NOVEMBER 22, 2016: New Peoples Army guerillas taking a break on their long walk to camp on November 22, 2016 in Sierra Madre, Philippines. The New People's Army, the military organization of the communist movement in the Philippines, had warned of a possible failure of the ongoing peace talks with the Duterte government during a meeting with reporters on Wednesday, if the U.S. and Philippine treaty alliance continues. Tucked in the encampment of Sierra Madre mountains southeast of Manila, the Communist guerrillas have been waging a half century war against the U.S. treaty alliance with the Philippines, resisting against its military presence and trade freedom. The NPA also warned against making allies with countries like China and Russia who are also imperialists in nature, they said. (Photo by Jes Aznar/Getty Images)
