(Original Caption) Iliolo, Philippine Islands: Family Approach To Peace Corps. Thirty-two-year-old Stephen C. Rye, of Farmersville, California, teaches English at the Central Elementary school here during his 15-week training period by the Peace Corps. The volunteers are taught some Filipino dialects and given intensive courses in history and customs of the islands. In taking up their duties, the Peace Corps families will lead a simple life without the fancy comforts they had back in the States. Each adult member will receive a monthly salary of $83 (U. S.) and a $21 allowance for each child.
