TURKEY - CIRCA 1900: Pamukkale, Turkey - Begin atop a high cliff about 200 meters overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have created at Pamukkale (the cotton castle 'in Turkish) an unreal landscape, made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins. Pamukkale hot spring is formed by travertine (limestone). There are 17 places in the region of hot water heat varies between 35 and 100 ° C. The source used since ancient times, boasts the ruins of settlements heat, pain, temples and other Greek monuments. This site is a World Heritage of UNESCO since 1988.
