Description
(Original Caption) 11/4/1969-Washington, DC-President Nixon said that he was overwhelmed by an outpouring of public support for his plan to extricate the U.S. from the Vietnam War. With stacks of wires piled up on his desk, Nixon is holding a long roll of ticker paper which he said is "the longest wire in history." He said it came from "some fellow in Colorado," who bought the wire and got 20,066 signatures on it pledging support for Nixon.
