Nicosia (Lefkosia) is the capital of Cyprys and the largest city on the island. The city houses the government and has approx 310 thousand.
In the middle of the City Center you will find the border between the Greek and Turkish part of Cyprus. This Green Line (border) makes Nicosia the only divided capital in the world. Nicosia (southern part) is the capital of the Republic of Cyprus while northern part is capital of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which is only recognized by Turkey.
