Description
Under the auspices of the Women's Organization for National Prohibition Reform, a "motorcade" started out from the home of Mrs. Christian R. Holmes of New York, for a tour of New York State urging repeal of the 18th Amendment. Mrs. Holmes is Chairman in charge of the party making the trip. Traveling by autos, the party's first stop will be at Yonkers, then to Beacon and Poughkeepsie, where an overnight stop will be made. Left to right, as they lined up before the "Speakers Car", just before the start, are: Mrs. John S. Sheppard, Chairman of the N.M. Division, who bid the party farewell; Miss Margaret L. Brown; Mrs. Adria Locke Langley; Mrs. John D. Wing, Chairman of Dutchess County; Mrs. Mabel Jacques Eichel, Vice-Chairman of the State Meetings Committee; Mrs. Marion Booth Kelley, Legislative Chairman; Mrs. Christian R. Holmes and Miss Ethel Zabriskie, member of the Advisory Council.(Photo by Bettmann Archive/Getty Images)
