(Original Caption) 8/16/1932-Philadelphia, PA: Moses "Lefty" Grove, star hurler of the Philadelphia Athletics, was honored at Shibe Park with a presentation of a trophy by the Baseball Writers of America as the "Most Valuable" to his team in 1931. Here, Grove shows his prize to his boss, Connie Mack (L), veteran manager of the A's.
