(Original Caption) 3/23/1929- Parnassus, PA: General view of the little mining village of Kinloch, with blazing tipple (left) of the Kinloch Mine, in the main shaft of which 250 miners were entombed following an explosion set off by a spark from crash of broken machinery. 223 of the trapped miners escaped through and old entry five miles from the main shaft. The death toll is twenty-one.
