Artist's Description

(Original Caption) 8/26/1966-Peking, China: Mao Tse-Tung, Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, wears a "Red Guard" armband as he waves to a rally celebrating the Cultural Revolution in Peking August 8th. The "Red Guard" armband sigifies Mao's support for the teen-aged groups that have been enforcing Party cultural decisions and rooting out "bourgeois" behavior among the Chinese people.
