(Original Caption) 7/14/1928-Peking, China: When the Nationalists entered Peking, it had been arranged through the diplomatic bodies that the 47th Manchurian brigade should stay back in the city, preserving order until the victors entered. As the Nationalists entered through the North Gate, these Manchurians left through the East Gate. Photo shows the unfortunate 47th Manchurian brigade waiting inside the East Gate for the order to leave Peking, shortly before their safe conduct was violated.
