(Original Caption) 1/12/1947-London, England: Carefully strung up by means of a pulley device, Patient X of St. Thomas Hospital, London, is swung off the ground and left in midair three times before dinner. And he likes it! This is the skilled treatment prescribed by doctors to cure him of paralysis. Patient X, middle-aged and grey-haired (his name withheld by hospital authorities) displaced a cartilage in the base of his neck, which partially paralyzed one arm and side.
