Description
Man Resting next to his covered wagon. The man is adventuring across Pike's Peak, during the Goldrush. The Peak was discovered by Lieut. Zebulon in 1806. He did not explore it like Stephen Harriman Long who lead an exopedition on July 14-15, 1820. Lon Named the mountain for James, but common usage had bestowed Pike's name upon it by 1859, when it became the focal point of a gold rush with the slogan "Pike's Peak or bust."
