(Original Caption) Making parts for the giant machines which help make and assemble Ford Motor cars requires huge equipment, and here in picture, Alex Tiebs, a skilled tool and die maker, is framed in a giant metal lathe in the Ford Motor Company's Rouge plant. He is scraping bronze insert ends of the lathe's jaws so that large but delicate part to be worked will not be marred. The lathe is used to turn forgings for parts of machinery.
