Mahone Bay is a bay located on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, Canada along the eastern end of Lunenburg county. Mahone Bay was named after the French 'mahonne', which referred to a type of boat used by local privateers. Mahone Bay is also the name of this town. The town is known for a history of wooden boat building. it was the main industry of Mahone Bay in its earlier years.
