LaGuardia (white suit, center foreground) greeting Lou Gehrig on the occasion of "Lou Gehrig Day" at Yankee Stadium, during a ceremony honoring the non-playing captain of the Yankees whose playing days have ended as a result of a diseased spine. In the background are former members of the Yankee teams. The ceremony took place in between games of the New York Yankee-Washington Senator double header.
