This photo shows Lou receiving a trophy before starting the record-breaking game at St. Louis. Left to right: William Harridge, President of the American League; E.G. Brands, editor of Sporting News, who presented the cup; Lou Gehrig and Joe Sewell, Yankee third baseman, who played 1,103 consecutive games before illness cut short his string.
