UNITED STATES - SEPTEMBER 03: Lena Horne sings at the Daily News' Harvest Moon Ball at Madison Square Garden. The Brooklyn-born singer (1917) made her singing debut at 16 in Harlem's famous Cotton Club. A star of MGM musicals in the '40s and '50s, Horne also starred on Broadway and received a Tony Awards for Distinguished Achievement in the Theater.
