Here is the largest gun in the United States. The photo was made at the Watertown, N.Y. arsenal, where the gun was sent to have a carriage made for it. The monster will be shipped to the Panama Canal for coast defense. The gun fires a shell weighting 2370 pounds, a distance of ten miles. The shell is practically as large as those fired by the famous German 42 centimeter guns. The German shell is 14 inches larger in diameter. A special car was made on which to ship the gun.
