Lake Tahoe', 1874. Large freshwater lake which straddles California and Nevada, in the Sierra Nevada, USA. 'Though it lies under the unbroken sunlight through a great part of the summer weather, there is perpetual variation in the great mountain-shadows, and in breeze and calm on the surface.
