Kelmscott Press: Page from The Tale of Beowulf Printed in the Troy Type', c.1895, (1914). Page from 'The Tale of Beowulf Done Out of the Old English Tongue. Trans. By William Morris and A. J. Wyatt'. 19th century translation of the Old English epic poem set in Scandinavia. Beowulf, a hero of the Geats, comes to the aid of Hrothgar, the king of the Danes, whose mead hall in Heorot has been under attack by a monster known as Grendel.
