Artist's Description

(Original Caption) 2/2/1944-England: Kay Summersby, an Irish girl from County Cork, is mighty proud of the company she keeps, for there's always at least one important Allied leader behind her when she takes the wheel. Attached to the American Forces as General Dwight Eisenhower's personal chauffeur when she first came to England, she has been driving "Ike" over roads in North Africa, Tunisia and Italy ever since. She returned to London with the General, and wears the uniform of a young officer while on duty.
