(Original Caption) 3/29/1951-New York, NY: To Sentence Spies: Federal Judge Irving R. Kaufman sits at his desk at Federal Court, March 29, before sentencing Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, and Morton Sobell, who where foung guilty of conspiracy to commit espionage in War time by the verdict of a jury the same day. Judge Kaufman said, "It's a sad day when American Citizens lend themselves to the destruction of our country."
